Beginning Tuesday, March 17, Carroll High School will move to an online learning model while the school building is closed during the COVID-19 outbreak.  Students should not schedule any work or other activity between 9:00 a.m. and 2:15 p.m. each day.  We will stay in the online learning environment for the remainder of the academic year.  The seniors' last day of class will be May 14, and all underclassmen will finish their classes on May 21. There will be no final exams.

Due to mandates from the Governor's Office, the Carroll High School Main Office is closed until further notice as of Monday, March 30.

Attendance will be taken and recorded in each class.  Work is not an excuse to miss school.  Please call (937) 253-8188 x303 if you need assistance or would like to report a student absent from online classes.  You may also report your student’s absence or an internet outage at your home to

If your child, or any member of your immediate family tests positive for the COVID-19 virus, please inform the school immediately.

All extra-curricular activities have been canceled.  We will work hard to reschedule the spring musical, PATS Retreat, and other important events.  Spring sports practice and competition has been suspended as well.  Coaches of those teams will be in communication with athletes about ways to stay fit and sharp.  All students are encouraged to exercise and get fresh air as it is beneficial to their mind, body, and spirit.  

On May 22, seniors will come to school and return books and athletic uniforms, gather belongings, and get their caps and gowns.  All the teachers will be in the building, but we will have the students carefully spread throughout the day. All social distancing, mask, and occupancy requirements will be followed.  More details about the day will follow as it draws near.  Underclass students will be brought in to take care of end of year business on May 27–29. Again, more information will follow as the school year comes to an end.

Graduation will look much different this year, but will still be a special and memorable experience.  Graduates and their families will come in for individual ceremonies between June 5–7.  Speeches will be read; awards and diplomas will be given and the whole event will be recorded and compiled into a video for the graduates to keep.  We will hold a special Mass and recognition service for all graduates and their families as soon as the Church will allow for such a gathering.  Detailed information will be sent to seniors and their families very soon.

"Electronic Office Hour" means that teachers should be email ready.  Teachers will do their best to reply to any email received within this window as soon as they can.  All students must receive a reply/answer from teachers within 24 hours.

Student FAQs

What kind of coursework should I expect?

Students will be “in session” remotely on their Chromebook, Monday through Thursday, from 9:00 a.m. - 2:15 p.m.  Attendance is mandatory. There is no school on Friday during this remote learning time.

Do I have to check into each class period and stay for the duration?

Yes.  Teachers are posting assignments that are due either at the end of the period or at the start of the next school day.  You will receive a 0 for all missing assignments.

How does class begin?

Students will need to log into their Chromebook by the start of class time.  Teachers will send a message using their GoGuardian account to “interrupt” their computer and begin instruction.

What will class look like?

Classes will operate in one of two manners:

  1. (Teachers will present in “live time” (chat/video/messaging) or show a pre-recorded video during the 30-minute class period.  Any homework given in this option will be due by the start of class the next day.
  2. Teachers will post an assignment.  Any assignment given in this option needs to be due at the end of the period.
How can I communicate with my teachers during time away form school?

Email your teachers with any questions you have.  Teachers will respond within 24 hours.  Should you have a dire question for your teacher, teachers will be “email ready” from 8:45 a.m.- 9:00 a.m. and again from 2:15 pm. - 3:00 p.m., Monday through Thursday.  They will do their best to respond to any email they receive within this window as quickly as possible.

How should I dress and where should I work?

Dress appropriately.  You do not have to wear your uniform; however, you should be presentable as everyone will be able to see you in GoGuardian.  Choose a quiet location in your home, at a table or desk, for class time.  Don't be "in class" from your bed.
