Welcome from the Deans

Led by Dean Marcy (Hemmert) Hughes '83, our House is one of gratitude.  Mrs. Hughes was born a Carroll Patriot; daughter of 53 year veteran teacher Mr. Jim Hemmert, she walked the halls of Carroll long before her attendance here as a student or teacher.  Mrs. Hughes has taught English for over 30 years.  She is in her 20th year of teaching in the Archdiocese of Cincinnati, and she has spent 16 of those years at Carroll; she is also an adjunct faculty member at Sinclair Community College, where she has taught for 17 years.  She serves many roles at Carroll, including advisor for Write-On, our student writing publication.  “I chose to be a House Dean because I believe in the House System. Carroll is already a great place.  Now, we have an opportunity to enhance our students’ education; to provide more leadership opportunity and “connectedness” for our students, faculty, and staff.  We are growing leaders and building community,” Hughes says.
