Welcome from the Deans

As members of St Mary's House, we strive to be like Mary, putting service to others before ourselves.  This is symbolized in two of our favorite quotes. The first originates from Mahatma Gandhi: “The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others.”  The second comes from Mother Teresa: “I am a little pencil in the hand of a writing God who is sending a love letter to the world.”

We designed our crest using different symbols representing Mary and her various names. Our symbols include a compass, rose, crown, rope with knots, the Sacred Heart, doves, and water.  We chose to include water in our design to represent our marquee service project: The Water Project.  Each spring, we raise money to support the Sisters of Notre-Dame de Namur in bringing sustainable clean water sources to communities in Africa.  As a Carroll community, we have helped countless families gain access to life giving water with sanitization packets, containers, and even solar panels which run water filtration systems.  We work to help our students build strong academic, service, and faith foundations.
