Visiting Carroll

Visiting Carroll

Personalized Visit Days

One of the best ways to experience Carroll is to be a Patriot for a Day!  Eighth grade visitors can enjoy meeting new friends, experiencing excellent and challenging classes, meeting our teachers, learning about how they will fit into our House System, and finding out first-hand how much fun it is to be a Patriot!  These visits are designed to let students who are unfamiliar with Archbishop Carroll picture himself or herself as a Patriot by immersing the student into life at the school.  The Enrollment Office will select a student ambassador who shares many of the visitor's interests to show the visitor how to navigate the halls, go from class to class, eat lunch with hundreds of other students, and many other aspects of high school.  This unique, customized experience allows visitors to see a close look at life as a Patriot at Carroll.

Patriot for a Day Registration Form

Shadow Day Registration
  • Thank you for providing us with all the information needed to make your child's Archbishop Carroll High School shadow day a success.  Scheduling a visit on a day that your child is off school is a great way to make sure they are not missing valuable time in the classroom!  Please look at the schools listed in parentheses to see when your student has a day off.  Of course, you may choose ANY day that you wish and if your school is not listed, please feel free to come on any day that fits your schedule.

In order to accommodate your child, all visits must be scheduled at least five days in advance.

We will choose a current student who best shares your child's interests and academic profile to guide your child.  This will create a more comfortable shadow day experience for your child while also making new friends!  If you would like to request a specific student guide, please provide the name below.  We cannot guarantee that your request will be fulfilled, but we will do our best.

  • Student Information

  • Student Interests

  • Please choose your top academic interests below.

  • Student Extracurricular Interests

  • If your student is interested in shadowing an athlete, please include their first choice only below.  We will do our best to accommodate this request.

  • Parent/Guardian Information

  • At Archbishop Carroll High School, we offer a variety of academic levels for our students.  We want to make sure your child feels comfortable on their shadow day and, in doing so, we want to make sure they participate in classes similar to the academic level they would experience as a first-year student.  Please look at the course descriptions below and choose what you believe would best fit your students' academic level.

    • College Prep level courses are designed to increase motivation and competence in coursework. Ability-level materials are chosen to stress interpretation and transfer of understandings.
    • Scholarship level courses require a higher level of competency than College Prep level courses. The application of acquired knowledge is a focus at this level.
    • Honors level courses require students to work at a more sophisticated level and to demonstrate a high degree of self-motivation. Course materials and activities demand a high level of comprehension, as well as proficiency in writing and other basic skills.

  • Student Guide Requests

While we highly value and consider student guide requests, please be advised that Archbishop Carroll High School reserves the right to override any requests made. Our primary goal is to ensure the best educational outcomes for all students, and decisions will be made in alignment with this objective.  Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

  • Welcome to Archbishop Carroll High School!  We look forward to meeting you and your Future Patriot!

You will receive information about your child's day in an email about a week before the shadow day.  Please read it carefully--hopefully, it will answer all of your questions.

We are so glad that you are considering Archbishop Carroll High School for your child.  If you have any questions about this visit or anything else related to admissions, please do not hesitate to reach out to Mrs. Heather Terbay, Director of Enrollment at (937) 253-8188 x305 or hterbay@carrollhs.org.
