Personalized Visit Days

One of the best ways to experience Carroll is to be a Patriot for a Day!  Eighth grade visitors can enjoy meeting new friends, experiencing excellent and challenging classes, meeting our teachers, learning about how they will fit into our House System, and finding out first-hand how much fun it is to be a Patriot!  These visits are designed to let students who are unfamiliar with Carroll picture himself or herself as a Patriot by immersing the visitor in life at the school.  The Admissions Office will select a student ambassador who shares many of the visitor's interests to show the visitor how to navigate the halls, go from class to class, eat lunch with hundreds of other students, and many other aspects of high school.  This unique, customized experience allows visitors to see a close look at life as a Patriot at Carroll.

You can schedule your experience as a "Patriot for a Day" by asking a parent or guardian to complete the Patriot for a Day Form!  Please make arrangements at least one week prior to the day you wish to visit to ensure that your Patriot for a Day visit will be as personalized as possible.  Please contact Director of Admissions Jodi Shannon if you have a question about your visit day.

Shadow Day Registration
  • In order to accommodate your child, all visits must be scheduled at least three days in advance.

Please allow us to choose a current student who shares your child's interests and academic profile.  We find this creates a more successful shadow day experience for your child.

Shadowing FAQs

Who can shadow?

Any prospective eighth grader, from private, home, charter, or public schools can shadow by a parent/guardian making an appointment or completing the Visit Form.  Seventh graders who do not currently attend Catholic elementary schools can shadow in March and April.

Khakis and a polo shirt, sweater, or button-up shirt are fine. We ask that you not wear jeans, t-shirts, shorts, sweatpants, or leggings.

You will be treated to lunch!  The menu is posted on the website so be sure there is something you like.  You are always welcome to bring your lunch and we encourage you to bring a few dollars if you would like to try out our snack line!

What if my guide is taking a test in a class?

You will be provided an activity booklet to occupy your time and let you have a little fun learning about Carroll.
