Carroll High School is pleased to announce two faculty updates to its administrative team.  Mrs. Jill Kilby has been named the Dean of Academics and Mr. Greg Derus has been named the Assistant Principal.  Both of these faculty changes are effective immediately.

Now in his second year at Carroll, Derus previously served as the Director of Student Affairs.  Kilby began her career at Carroll as a social studies teacher at the start of the 1994-95 academic year.  In 2016, Kilby helped found Carroll’s House System by serving as the Dean of Gonzaga House.  In 2019, she became one of the House System’s Directors.

“The Carroll community has blessed me greatly over the years, so to say I am both excited and honored to serve in this new role would be an understatement!  Our students, faculty, staff, and administrative team have created a strong learning environment, but more importantly a family,” Kilby said.  “Adding value to our current systems and taking on new challenges as they arise are what I’m most passionate about. I’m thrilled to accept this opportunity and ready to get started.”

“Jill brings a great deal of classroom experience, leadership of the House System, strong organizational skills, and a passion for Carroll to the position,” Carroll Principal Matthew Sableski ‘91 said.  “She will be laser focused on supporting teachers and students so that we can be the best academic institution we can be.”

Both of these changes follow former Assistant Principal Mrs. Kathy Anderson’s resignation from her position to pursue a school leadership position outside of Carroll.  The Carroll community thanks Anderson for her six years of dedicated service to our students and leadership on the administrative team.
