Five alumni return as teachers for 2023-24

August 21, 2023
By Archbishop Carroll High School

Archbishop Carroll High School is welcoming back five alumni as teachers for the 2023-24 academic year.

“We are delighted to welcome five highly-qualified, energetic, and faith-filled women to our faculty for the 2023-2024 school year,” Principal Matt Sableski '91 said.  “The fact that they are all graduates of Archbishop Carroll High School is certainly an added bonus.  To me, it is very telling that so many of our graduates who go into education have a desire to come back to their alma mater and contribute to our great community.”

Ms. Brooke Butler '17

Hometown: Dayton, Ohio

College:  The Ohio State University

Years working in education: Two

Classes I teach: Symphonic Band, Marching Band, Intro to Guitar, and Study Hall

What am I looking forward to this year?: I'm excited to help lead the band to achieve performance excellence throughout the marching, concert, and jazz seasons. I'm also ecstatic to support more students that I might not normally have a chance to connect with through the House System. Ultimately, I'm thrilled to pay it forward as a teacher -- Carroll provided so many opportunities to make fond memories and develop the character and academic confidence to be successful upon graduation. Our current students deserve that as well.

How do you enjoy spending your free time?: I enjoy hanging out with family and friends, nature walks, biking, arranging and composing music, reading/learning, and playing trumpet in a variety of Brass Bands and Wind Ensembles.
