Jessica Kaneza '28: Student of the Week, January 22, 2025

January 22, 2025
By Archbishop Carroll High School

Jessica Kaneza '28, Trinity House member and Immaculate Conception School alumna, with Mrs. Samantha (Miegl) Doggett

Jess dedicates herself to her studies with a genuine eagerness to learn. She gives voice to those in need and will continue to change the world with her words of inspiration, kindness, and gratitude. What I admire most about Jess, aside from her determination and drive, is her profound appreciation for education and her inherent understanding that knowledge has the power to move mountains.

-Mrs. Samantha (Miegl) Doggett '06

Zendaya

What activities do you participate in?

I have participated in the Marching Band, Spanish Club, Freshman Class Council, Key Club, Math Club, and Medical Career Club.

What's your favorite part about being a student at Carroll?

My favorite part of being a Carroll student is being able to see how I am growing and also being able to have a community of teachers that are there to help you when you are in trouble.

How should school help you succeed?

School should help me see my mistakes and learn from those mistakes. It also should help me grow academically so I can help the world in the future.

What's your biggest dream in life?

My dream is to be passionate in what I do, help the world become a better place, and help my family live a good life.

What's a lesson you learned when overcoming a difficult obstacle?

A lesson that I learned when I overcame an obstacle is that when God is trying to help you grow, you should follow through and put as much effort to meet him halfway, because the path we go onto comes from the decisions that God gives us in life.

How do you like spending your free time?

I like to spend free time learning new things, reading, and talking to people who are close to me.
