May 07, 2024
By Archbishop Carroll High School

Maria Davis ‘24, Trinity House member and Ascension School alumna, with Mrs. Marcy (Hemmert) Hughes ’83

Maria immerses herself in her school and community. Not only has Maria been involved with our Drama Club as an actor and Student Director of The Freedom Players for four years, but she has shown more leadership as a Camp Counselor at Camp Kern during the summer of 2023. Additionally, Maria has served as a Trinity House Captain here at Carroll and was on the CHS Cross-Country team.

My favorite part of being a student at Carroll is the community I've found here. Being a part of clubs has really helped me break out of my shell and meet new people.

What Should school “do” for you?

School should give you a safe environment to learn and grow as a person, throughout your time there.

What’s a lesson you learned when you overcame a difficult obstacle?

As I've grown up, I've taken more leadership positions. These have been wonderful opportunities, but also a new kind of challenge. From these experiences, I've learned how to be reliable, and make difficult decisions when necessary.

What’s your biggest dream in life?

My biggest dream in life is to publish a book.

How do you like spending your free time?

I spend my free time writing, drawing, and doing crafts.
