Meet the 2022 Carroll High School Valedictorians and Salutatorians

Two members of the Carroll High School Class of 2022 have earned the distinction of valedictorian, and two others are being honored as Salutatorians.  Kelly Dong and Ryan Donohue are the top students from the 168 member class, and Vivian Dao and Jacob Reuter also completed their careers as Carroll students with extraordinary academic records.

Kelly Dong, Gonzaga House, St. Helen Catholic School

Kelly is an Editor for Yearbook Club and the President of National Honor Society. She was honored her junior year as 1 of 24 Melvin Scholars by the Ohio Academy of Science in recognition of her science fair research project. Outside of school, she likes to cook, bake, and is an intern in the Wright Scholar program for mentor Dr. John Harrell; last summer, she assisted in  research on the physiological and biomedical impacts of flight on fighter pilots. She will continue her research this upcoming summer. Kelly will major in Chemistry at The Ohio State University with the final intent to pursue medical school and to become an oncologist.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Ryan Donohue, Baltimore House, St. Luke School

Ryan was involved in Varsity soccer, Varsity track, Yearbook Club, Student Advisory Council, National Honors Society, and Spanish Honors Society. I served as the co-President of Spanish Club and earned 7 varsity letters throughout high school as well as the Merit award for service. Ryan was All-District in track and All-Miami Valley and All-GCL Co-ed in soccer. His career goal is to become a biomedical engineer and eventually get a master’s degree. Vivian Dao, Trinity House, Pathway School of Discovery

During her time at Carroll, Vivian participated in several activities like Drama Club, Science Olympiad, Harry Potter Club, and TSA TEAMS in addition to being a member of tennis team and serving as a House Captain. Jacob Reuter, St. Mary's House, St. Luke School

While in high school, Jacob played varsity soccer, varsity tennis, and was a Family Room Captain.  He also performed more than 100 hours of community service.  Jacob will attend The Ohio State University to study Computer Science and Engineering.  After graduating college, he plans to start a career in the cybersecurity field.
